Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park did not disappoint. The rock formations in GNP fascinate me — thousands of years in the making, with colors and characteristics that feel almost magical. The lakes, creeks and rivers are filled with colorful rocks and stones; red, gold, gray, ivory. The park is full of mountain ranges, lakes, meadows, wildflowers, marmots acting like tour guides, bears keeping us on our toes, moose making casual appearances, bighorn sheep, and so much more.

One ambitious morning, we began the hike to Hidden Lake. My body gave out before the summit, but Julie—ever the determined explorer—continued on and brought back the memory of the lake for us both.

On another day, to punish my poor, pain-riddled body a little more, we hiked to see three waterfalls—and, naturally, spotted a moose, because apparently the universe insists on keeping things interesting.

Bucket list item: whitewater rafting ✅. It was a total thrill ride — with just enough chaos that we nearly became human bobbers a few times.

On our final day, I was able to get some fishing in on Lake McDonald. Didn’t have any luck, but I didn’t care.

On to the next adventure…..
